Welcome to the Witham Hockey Club website.

Established in 1924, our Club has been around for many years. Our Clubhouse is situated at the Park Pavilion in Maldon Road, Witham.

We share our Club and ground with Witham Cricket Club.

We have always been a joint club, currently with 4 Men's teams and 2 Ladies sides. We participate in the East Men's League (Divisions 1, 4SE, 6SE & 9SE) and the Essex Ladies League (Divisions 1 & 4). As you can see from our Policy document we are a non profit making club and our aim is to provide hockey to the best possible standard for all our members.

We are now very fortunate thanks to Braintree District Council and the Football Foundation to have the use of a brand new artificial (Astro) pitch in Spinks Lane, Witham, which is now our main home pitch, as league games cannot be played on grass anymore. The new changing rooms are complete together with a new car park, entrance via Spinks Lane..

We have re-started Junior Training (ages 6 - 13) every Sunday morning during the hockey season (resuming on 21st September 2008) on the new Astro from 10.30am - 12 mid day. All welcome, and the cost to participate is just £2. All our Club coaches and volunteers are CRB checked and have attended Child Protection/First aid Courses.

Senior Training ( ages 14 - 75) is on Wednesday night (resuming from 3rd September 2008) at the same location from 8pm -10pm and anyone is welcome to come along and see if you like hockey - we are always on the lookout for new players whatever your skill level.

We are a very friendly Club which is why we have been going for so long and we run a very varied social calendar, so whatever your age or hockey experience why not give me a call or email me - we would love you to join us.
